Our Story
Founder and President, Devin J. Parent, has always believed that family is everything. That belief first took root years ago when his niece, Devanne, spent six months in South Africa during a semester abroad, helping bring clean water wells to rural villages. Her experience left a lasting impression, planting a quiet seed that would grow in ways no one could have predicted.
Ten years later, life brought profound challenges. After the passing of his brother, Devin found himself caring for both his mother, who was living with Alzheimer’s disease, and his father, a disabled military veteran. In the midst of grief, responsibility, and reflection, he felt called to make the journey to South Africa himself. What began as a visit became a 35-day experience that would ultimately shape the mission of this foundation.
Each day, Devin met with Moustapha and Kempes, two local men working tirelessly to support their village. Through the sale of handmade art and antiquities, they raised what little they could not only to survive, but to give back, helping fund water wells and essential supplies for their community. Their determination, despite limited resources, revealed both the depth of the need and the strength of the human spirit.
Walking alongside villagers, sharing meals, and listening to stories under vast, open skies, Devin came to understand a reality few of us ever have to face. Clean water was not a given. It was a daily struggle. Across the surrounding rural areas, access to reliable clean water sources was extremely limited forcing many families to travel significant distances to collect water. And yet, even in scarcity, the people gave back to one another, embodying a level of generosity and unity that deeply moved him.
What inspired Devin was not the hardship, but the resilience. It reflected the very values his family had always lived by: compassion, care, and a responsibility to leave the world better than we found it.
When he learned that a well could be built for $4,500, the path forward became clear. He committed to fundraising for 25 wells, creating sustainable access to clean water for entire communities. And when he saw more than 200 children without access to education, he knew the mission had to grow. A school, estimated at $250,000, became part of the vision, offering not just learning, but a future.
Devin did not set out to start a foundation. He followed a thread of family, loss, and love that led him somewhere far greater. What he found was purpose. Today, that purpose lives on through a simple but powerful vision: to bring clean water, education, and lasting hope to communities that have been forgotten, one well and one classroom at a time.

Devin J. Parent
Founder & President
Devin is the President and Founder of H2O Wells & Education 4 LIFE Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing sustainable clean water and educational access to underserved communities across Africa. His leadership is fueled by a personal commitment to service, inspired by witnessing the daily struggle for water and honoring the legacy of his late brother, Curtis.
With over three decades of executive experience in financial services and risk management, Devin brings strategic oversight, disciplined governance, and transparent stewardship to every initiative.
Under his leadership, the foundation partners closely with local communities to build wells that provide health, dignity, and opportunity. Devin leads with heart and integrity, working daily to transform lives through clean water, education, and community empowerment.

Jounedou "Kempes" Nsangou
Board Director & Village Dev. Advisor
Kempes is a respected community leader who played a key role in the successful completion of the first well. He brings hands-on expertise in village development, education initiatives, and water project logistics, ensuring resources are used effectively for maximum impact.
As a board member, Kempes advises on program implementation, community engagement, and sustainability strategies. His lived experience and deep commitment to improving the quality of life for children and families in the region strengthen the foundation’s mission and guide the development of future projects in additional communities.
Moustapha M. Njouonkou
Board Director & Community Liaison
Moustapha is a respected community leader who played a key role in implementing and coordinating the foundation’s first clean water well. He has been essential in planning, community relations, and the ongoing maintenance of water and education initiatives in the region.
With deep knowledge of local needs and challenges, Moustapha ensures every project reflects the priorities and voices of the villagers. He serves as a bridge between the foundation and the community, guiding sustainability and long-term impact. His leadership embodies the foundation’s commitment to partnership, cultural understanding, and lasting change.
Todd "Champ" Norris
Board Director & Strategic Advisor
Todd brings extensive leadership experience to the Board and team, combining expertise from both corporate and nonprofit sectors. With over two decades in banking and risk management and more than 17 years in holistic health and medical massage, Todd blends strategic financial insight with a strong commitment to community wellness.
His guidance strengthens the foundation’s governance, fundraising, and donor relations, ensuring responsible fiscal management and long-term sustainability. Todd’s leadership supports the organization’s mission to create lasting change through clean water, education, and community empowerment.
